SCV 927 is a synthetic lamellar silicate that does not dissolve in water but can hydrate and swell in water to form a transparent colloid. Its primary particles carry negative charges on the faces and positive charges on the edges. After dispersion, due to electrostatic repulsion, they form a “house of cards” structure that remains stable in the colloid. When added to water at a dosage of 5-10%, it can maintain a fluid state for a long time. Under the condition of a small amount of electrolyte, it quickly exhibits strong thixotropy and thickening properties.

● SCV 927 is easy to disperse, suitable for high-gloss and water-based transparent products.

● SCV 927 can prepare high-concentration pre-gels to maintain system stability.

● SCV 927 strongly cross-links with emulsions.

Applications:

Water-based multicolor coatings, latex paints, water-based color pastes, thick paste coatings, etc.

Addition method:

Pre-gel: Prepare a 5-10% pre-gel and add slowly. High-shear dispersion equipment is recommended. No additives are required; stability will be weakened in an acidic environment.

Recommended dosage:

1-2% of the total system weight; actual dosage depends on system requirements.

Precautions during operation:

● Use in a well-ventilated area.

● Wear protective goggles, gloves, mask, and other protective equipment during operation.

● If contact with skin occurs, immediately wash with soap and water.

● If splashed into eyes, immediately rinse thoroughly with water and seek medical advice.

● After use, wash hands and rinse mouth.
